Parents Without Conflict
Sadly, one in two marriages ends in divorce in the United States. Divorce is stressful to every family member. While parents are preoccupied with their own emotional struggles, children feel insecure. After separation, each parent’s different ways of parenting often creates conflict between them and confusion in children. This eight 2-hour workshop helps divorcing parents to engage in cooperative parenting and help their children’s coping from parents’ divorce. This workshop meets the demand of court-ordered parenting class. The workshop will address following aspects in parenting:
- Understanding their children’s reaction to divorce and separation at each developmental state.
- Understanding how conflict between parents negatively impacts their children
- Developing techniques for successful communication and co-parenting skills
- Practicing and modeling conflict resolution skills to assist parents who feel locked into an endless cycle of conflict with little or no hope of resolution
